Bradford Guardian 3.5 is available

Exactly this. I’ve been asking Uncle E to design a BK14 with the longer Izula 2 scales for years.
At least Bradford was listening.
heres a pic of a bk 14 and an izula both with izula scales

The 3.5 looks like a good idea. I like the Guardian 3, but I had to "dumb down" the blade immediately in front of the choil because I nicked my index finger a couple times while getting a grip on it, after taking it out of the sheath. I can't be the only one who's had that problem. (Or am I?)
I nicked myself several times on the front edge of the choil on my Guardian3. Rather than softening the edge there, I just taught myself not to do that anymore (pain is a great teacher). After the first few weeks (and a number of nicks), my hand figured out where NOT to grab the knife and everything has been fine since. ;)

As far as the Guardian3.5 goes.... I am seriously considering one as soon as the discretionary spending fund says I can... The trick will be either getting my wife on board . . . or sneaking it past her (ha ha... like that works).

Then again, I have a regular Guardian3, and the Warnie has been catching my eye too. Lots to ponder and not enough green to cover everything.

Enjoy.

I was really hoping it’d be 3.5 inch blade along with the new handle design. If it had been I’d probably be buying one. Unfortunate miss for me

I could be wrong but isn't the G3 a 3.5 inch blade already? It's one of the reasons I didn't pick one up (I live in a 3 inch state). So does the '0.5' signify the same blade but with a different handle?

The cutting edge is only 3.0”

In that 'tweener' size, you should seriously check out Lionsteel M4.
The m4 is the right size, but looks like it has the ergonomics of a broom handle to me. I prefer a little more rounding and contours. And if done correctly a deep finger choil is lovely.

Gotcha. That ALMOST sounds like an ESEE 3, then.

I have to admit I have small hands and slim fingers, so I have zero problems with the G3. IMO this is just a G3 with a different handle(since I don;t think you actually get much more, if any, blade length with the G3.5, just a OAL bump) I too am waiting for a "true" 3.5 with the handle design that makes the G3 one of my favorite knives, but without the massive all around scale up that makes the G4 such a different animal for the extra length. How about a G4 Slimline!

If you want slim, might look at the non-3D replacement scales for the G4, they take the scale width from 0.9" down to 0.59". I've considered that too.

I mean in every direction, Blade/Handle height too. The G4 I feel is disproportionately scaled up in every direction for just a 1" blade length increase. I talked briefly with them when I got a G4-V4E. They see the G4 as a camping knife, I want a G4 I can EDC.

Agreed, it does look that way. The blade stock edge is rounded and stands proud around the perimeter of the handle. I could feel it when pushing down into a cut. That and I could not get good retention in kydex, but I'm a home-gamer. Great knife otherwise.
