Plus there is the fact that CR usually runs his S30V a little softer than most other companies. It might make for a tougher blade but a small pocket knife doesn't encounter much impact. I would rather have a harder blade that holds an edge for longer. That alone prevents me from owning one.
And yes I have turned into a steel snob. After using knives that use harder steel and some of the 'super steels' I have become spoiled. I would much rather have my M4 Benchmade Rift than any Sebenza and it cost about 1/3 as much as a Sebenza. But everyone has their own preference which is why there are so many quality knives out. A perfect knife for one person isn't going to be perfect for someone else. The previously mentioned Rift is perfection for me. I don't ever see myself not having it in my pocket which is why I carry 2 or 3 knives. That way some of the others get some carry time as well. It is also why I have acquired an extra M4 Rift (or two :foot
in case I ever lose one. To bad they only made 50 of them and 50 of a previous run with carbon fiber handles that weren't sold in the US.
I need to get a good picture of my EDC Rift but unfortunately I stink at taking pictures.
