Bradley Alias II

Emailed Benchmade this afternoon, having the sticky lock problem... But I like the knife so much that I will be sending them the knife for the defect. So mich that i have to use both hands to release the frame lock, it happens 2/10 times.

Yeah, once I got mine back from benchmade with its issue resolved, I really came to like the knife. I really don't want to mar the blue scales though... so I just ordered a grey version. I really hope this year's knife kick ends soon, because I've been going way off the deep end.
Well, nevermind that. I really hate when a retailer's website has out of stock items with no indication of such, that you can put in a cart and complete a checkout for.

Do you know how many blue handles they made? And will it wear off fast?
I think they will wear just fine, my concern is more about scratching them with my keys or something.

I sent mine in for blade play when the knife was closed, which was a result of the ball detent location being sub-optimal. When I got my knife back, it had a stickier lock than when I sent it in. I think this is because they had to tweak the lock bar angle or something, or maybe they replaced that scale, so the lock surface on the bar didn't match up with the tang as well. I emailed them back and was told there wasn't much they could do without probably bringing back the initial problem. I managed to fix it (we'll see how permanent my fix is as time goes on) by smoothing out the surface of the lock bar with some 1000 grit and liberally drawing on it with a soft pencil. Since I performed that fix on monday I haven't had to do anymore and it's been stick-free, even when I press the lock-bar further into the handle after opening it.

Good, let me know how permanent it is. If its totally permanent, i'll dot it. Till then, i'll just keep carrying it around and using it. Maybe it will stop, never know. Have a good day!
