I see advertisements all the time for this company, has anyone tried one of these yet? Alias I or II or that new balisong. I it worth the $200 plus dallors?

I don't have any of them, but have heard pretty much only good things about them.

The most common fault that I hear anybody mention is "Its not as good as a Sebenza"

how about "It's not anywhere near a sebenza".

There's passarounds and reviews that should come up on searching.

Oh, no, not this again. I handled one and it was a damn good knife. An absolutely outstanding Ti framelock.

I suspect if you look about, you'll beat that $200 by at least a Jackson.

From what I've seen (handled one of each) and heard, Bradley knives are good quality (BM makes them for Bradley, so your getting that quality level).

Ti frame lock knife in a EDC style must be compared to the Sebebza - NOT!!!

Take it for what it is - and hold one, think about it, hold one again if needed. Decide if, when compared to others of its kin, you're willing to buy it.

The ALIAS folders should be thought of as an improved BM 750. Its not a Sebenza, nor should it really be compared to a Sebenza. Personally, I'd rather have a Buck/Mayo 172 (which I do and EDC). I've heard VERY good things about the balisong, though, and it IS made by BM. Who knows more about making really good production balis than BM?

I have handled them in a knife store, and they seemd good quality knives to me. I especially liked the bali.

I have an Alias 1 customized by Matt Cucchiara.
It's a very good framelock folder, with high quality materials. It worth the money. It can't compete with a sebenza.
my Alias has a rock solid framelock, and very smooth action. I love the flat ground of the edge (it cuts like a laser !) too. But it's a bit too flashy with the inscriptions on the blade, and I don't like bead bread titanium and stone washed blade (i'm gonna change that soon)

I don't have experience with the Alias, but the Mayhem is an extremely well made knife. It was worth the 200+ I paid for it and I can't find any fault in it.

I bought an "Alias II" in January. No it's not a 'Sebenza' however for the money its an exceptional buy. Nothing I don't like about it but the supplied storage pouch is for a bigger knife, not a problem since the knife isn't in storage much.

I'm hearing alot of "can't compare" and "not a Sebenza", but I'm not hearing any specifics.
Exactly in what way does it fall short of the Sebenza?

I dont really understand all the comparisons to a Sebenza Either. If you want to buy a Sebenza then buy one if you want a Bradley Alias buy one of those or buy both. I dont see them as direct competitors because of the large difference in price. I do like the Alias's styling better than a Sebenza.

the pivot does not have a bush. To me that makes the sebbie what it is.

And is this enough to justify a more than double pricing? :grumpy:
Once again: if you're living in USA and you look for a status symbol and have money to throw away than grab a Sebbie.
BTW: I don't like another person to take decisions on my behalf. I do know what torque is needed for my use (and uses do change) of the knife, thus I do like to have the chance of adjusting it.
Then, talking about real world use (and even some abuse) just do some search here and you will find a short side by side comparison I did while trekking several days in the Alps in Italy, using a Small Sebbie and a Bradley Alias II ;)
Goin' on: outside USA the Sebbies cost too damn high. Here in Italy Small Sebbies (with no bells and whistles) are sold at 610EUR :jerkit:
Men, at such a price I can get (and actually I did) a custom made folder, choosing blade steel, HRC, grinding type, final blade sharpening level, handle material, custom engraving....... One of a kind against a production knife saving 33%: no game. For CRK are production knives.
Getting back to Bradley: you can easily get an Alias I for under 200bucks and an AliasII at around 165 .
