Bradley Spyder logo!

I busted out my little radio shack pocket microscope and it looks like a fingerprint under magnification. There is no way it is machined that small. It is laser engraved and I think that since there is a pattern instead of the laser just going back and forth it gives it a texture appearance at different angles. I am also looking at the Sage 2 and not the bradley.

lol, I busted out my little radio shack pocket microscope as well, and holy crap! yeah, I think you got it right. it's pretty amazing under magnification!!

This 3d look is the same on (as it seems) all the Taiwan knives, at least for the Sage, the Chokwe and the Bradley:

I know for sure for the Chokwe, because I own two of them. When you look close enough, you see though that the effect comes from the directions the grooves are engraved by the laser. You can even still see where the lines change direction creating the 3D effect. I just made an extreme close-up to show that:

Fascinating. I assume the lines are produced by the individual lasers. Great what you see when you can look really closely. Thanks.

Murdoc370,

Most excellent photo. And quickly too. You have my nomination as photographer of the year.

That is a great pic, it looks like something you would find in the Sechura desert :p:thumbup:

Thanks, guys! Credit goes to my new camera which I chose partly because of good macro abilities... and I think this pics prove I wasn't wrong ;)

I love shooting these macro shots. It is like looking through a small microscope.
