I've been killing myself to get a career firefighter job. I had little to no shot at this one, which happened to be the ONE I really wanted. I killed in the interview and I just got the call. I start on the 4th.

I know how satisfying that must feel, I'm looking for a job myself right now.

Congrats! Great career. I've been doing it about 8 years professionally out here in Californina. Worked on a shot crew prior to that while getting through college, and collecting all my certs. Enjoy! Also a career where you can show off you sharp steel to your buddies:)

Congratulations. My dad's been a firefighter since the 1960s (yes, that means he's no longer young). He's been the assistant-chief of a small-town's partially remunerated volunteer service for a couple of decades now.

:thumbup::D they ISSUE spydies here. I can't phathom being issued a blade. dear god it's nearly too much to handle.
