A few weeks ago Matt, aka BrainCandle had a thread here about a bad deal selling a Strider SNG CC in CTS-XHP (Am I getting scammed through Buyer's Paypal claim?). It seems the buyer in Eastern Europe sent the knife back and accused him of sending a bad knife. I can't remember all the details.

Basically I saw that the Strider was in one of my favorite steels, CTS-XHP. I took a risk and bought it when it got back in the US. I figured "BrainCandle" took the time to post a thread and pay for a Gold Membership and he deserved another chance to clear his name. I also advised him if he screwed me over I'd hunt him down.

The same Strider he posted in his original sales thread arrived today. It was sealed in a knife sized zip lock bag, wrapped in bubble wrap, and tightly sealed in a USPS box. Matt even went so far as to include the packaging from Europe to show it was the same knife.

The Strider is PERFECT. There is ZERO issues and no sticky lock. I'm mainly into customs, but I'm keeping this one.

Thanks Matt, BRAINCANDLE. I would do a deal with you any day and I recommend him to all my fello BF Members.

Thanks for posting this update. Only reaffirms everyone's opinion about how the original buyer (although not a scammer) did not use proper etiquete and seems to have made up things about the condition of the knife. My ignore list remains intact.

Thanks Sean. She looks beautiful in the sunlight! I hope you cut deep & cut true with the beautiful blade that went to the war torn scorched earth of Ukraine and back, & lived to tell about it. I almost died of a heart attack during said trip, but you have renewed my faith in knife-wielding humanity...

Matt, I think you will find most of the members here are good people. As you become more active you will become familiar with whose who. Ask others and ask the mods. The mods are very helpful.

Thanks for starting this thread and confirming what I already knew was the case. That being, the knife had no problems and the buyer had buyers remorse. I just now added him to the ignore list, first time I've ever bothered adding any one to the ignore!

Yeah, the knife is perfect. The thing is brand new.

This confirms what I already knew: Matt was/is the honest member in this GBU transaction. It's really sad that he had to be dragged through the mud on this crazy transaction. Had the other member simply attempted a line communication with the seller, instead of having buyer's remorse, this GBU thread could have been easily prevented. Matt, (Braincandle) had every right to be suspicious (regarding this buyer), when you look at all of the facts of this transaction.

At least the buyer, had the decency to return your SNG Strider back to you in the same condition that it was received...which was a pleasant surprise to learn.

Buying Matt's, Strider (in lieu of all the controversy), was very nice gesture for you to do, Sean, & confirms that you are one of the coolest member's here on BF! It's nice to know that this deal gone bad, had such a positive conclusion.

mquez: I concur- I will now add this buyer to my Ignore List; he was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT IN THE WRONG!

Perfect example of good folks looking out for good folks.
Seans one of the BEST in here..
You cant always get along with everyone and or make everyone happy with a deal and or a deal that may
not work out for certain reasons.
But we pick and choose whom we deal with and watch each others back..
Just simple as this..
GREAT people are MEMBERS HERE.......
You dont have to like or deal with everyone for what ever reason..
BUT clearly 95% (respectfully)(always a few bad transactions) of the time we all deal with great folks.
Best Blade Forum on the NET.......................
Im a """10"" Year Member and very fortunate for being allowed to hang out with this family.

Nicely done Sean.
+1

Sean got a nice a knife; and Matt was able to sell his Strider to someone that no only didn't create drama, but set the record straight as well.
Matt, glad you're knife made it back to you in the same condition you sent it.

In thee event that there are member's who aren't aware of what precipitated this thread, here is the original thread that may shed some light:

I think an apology is in order, for those of you who were so quick to brand, Braincandle as being the deceitful person in this transaction! You know who you are, but I highly doubt that you are man enough to admit it!

And what did we learn here? That the decent, honest member's here on BladeForums, do whatever is necessary to "COMMUNICATE" & resolve any issue's that may possibly arise with their transactions! Filing a Paypal dispute, should be option #2, or #3.
