OK, thought this might be fun. Post any knife product you'd like to see produced, but currently isn't AFAYK. NO CRITICISMS, that's a cardinal rule of the exercise. I think I'll call this 'bladestorming' (follow the rule :D)

anywho:

lightsaber
axis lock stryker
heavily curved hawkbill bali
spring loaded self-closing safety hook of premium quality
Busse folder
memory metal blade that changes shape with a mild electric current

there, now the ideas can only improve from this point on

1. Satin finish Kershaw Avalanche, with a little jimping along the top thumb-rest of the handle, and with dual thumbstuds as well.

2. Not sure if Coldsteel has access to the technology, or if it could even by applied to the design, but an AO Ti-lite would be interesting.

i'd like a Victorinox Manager that had both the toothpick AND tweezers along with the pen

having to choose bothers me :D

at the time i bought my Sebenza i wanted a "Medium Sebenza" i thought the Small one was too small and the Large too big. the Large seems fine now though

also on the Sebenza note...not that innovative or anything, but i'd like a Tanto Sebenza as a normal offering, not the unique graphic version. i normally don't like that shape, but on the Sebenza it's just right somehow

G-10 or Micarta on the Griptillian would be nice

and a lightsaber with a pocket clip, it seems i can't EDC anything without a pocket clip anymore

1. Cold Steel Ti-Lite with an Aus-8 kris-style blade, just because it would be so freaking scary looking.
2. Full size (4" blade) wharncliffe Benchmade Morpho
3. Balisong as designed by Ken Onion
4. (kind of off the wall) a dual-action OTF built into an iPod mini case, hot pink of course.
5. (this may not be a knife product but wth) sensible knife laws in this country
6. the Spyderco Szabofly (ok, this one might actually be real but the wait has been so long I figure I will just ask for it here)

BTW, lightsabers come standard with a belt clip. Kind of large for pockets.

Busse folder
Bark River folder
Gene Ingram folder

Great thread!

Spyderco Calypso shaped fixed blade with a short 2 1/4 inch leaf shaped blade and contoured G10 slabs. Steel VG10 or something along those lines...

Pretty please with a cherry on top? :p

I really like the memory metal blade idea. Different buttons to change blade shape to whatever is needed, DROOL...

BG-42 CF millie w/axis lock... or for spyder nuts the ball bearing lock
OTF Shun Chefs knife impractical I know but would be seriously cool

Bark River folder (which should happen in the next couple of months... yay!)
A Benchmade mini Resistor (3" blade)

David

I want that nano cheese string that had yakuza in Johnny Mnemonic. Yeah and lightsaber too. Orange, if you please.

Production Ken Onion Boa as close to original as possible. I can pay 200-300 - not a couple of grands ((

Woudn't mind if someone pimp my phone like this:
t28_blade.jpg

I'd like to see a rust proof steel that never gets dull. Also, a knife with literally two locks (Axis/frame). An otf hawkbill would be cool. I'd like to see some popular folders made in a larger fixed version -perhaps a civilian and an afck. I wouldn't mind seeing more folding knives with a double edge too. Another thing that would be nice is if companies started offering their designs with a choice of locking devices. And lastly, how about a knife with quick change pocket clips to exactily match the color of your pants that day.

I'll second the tanto bladed Sebenza and how about a sheepsfoot framelock by someone, anyone?(if somebody know's a maker/manufacturer doing it now, please let me know:) )
I'd also like to see a Spyderco without the fine tip in something other than FRN.

Sheath:
It may exist and may even be common to many, but not to me! I want more variety in my sheath attachments. TekLoks never seem to match the holes on my sheaths so that I can wear them a variety of ways.

I want an attachment that can be adapted to a variety of sheaths, with a pivoting device that can be tightened with a set screw. I like to carry my FBs on my right side canted to the rear between 80 and 50 degrees. I'd like a sheath that you can cant back, then take it off and screw in a set screw that will hold it there. Then, if you put that adaptor on another sheath, you could loosen the set screw, cant it to the degree of your liking, and tighten the set screw again.

(1)-Bark River blades flat ground w/ convex edge.
(2)-BK knives w/ thinner profiled & textured grip pannels
(3)-Pocket clips added to some of the more conventional pocket knives.

Not specific product suggestions, but some ideas and 'trends' I'd like to see:

A good selection of non-stainless tool steel folders from Benchmade, Spyderco

Generally higher blade hardness and more acute edge geometry from most manufacturers

A re-emphasis on straight-forward designs among the manufacturers of popular one-hand opening folders .... i.e. less 'tactical' look and more practical function

More Spydercos with ball bearing locks

More small fixed blade offerings with functional, flat-carrying pocket sheaths

BFC 'Blade Testing Pass-around Babes' for more interesting pics and videos

One lightsaber to go... midnight blue please...

and yes, a folder with aixs and framelock combination to make it lock up like a fixed blade... (technically, this should not be too hard to execute as the 2 locks don't get in the way of one another...) of course fitted with the never rusts, never gets blunt steel

I want to see a
sheepsfoot sebenza, an warncliff sebenza,
Busse folder of course,
I want to see a Super thin Active Duty.
I want a Carbon fiber and Talonite Ritter Grip.
Emmerson Commander with a framelock.
A clip point SNG.
A SAK with a functioning Laser(that cuts)
1 piece CRK Bowie with a clip point and deep belly.
A Randall with less than a year wait:D
a FBM with a 12 inch blade thats 5/8ths thick
SHBM with Penetrator tip and Carbon Fiber grips(with Lithium incerts)
BM 960 in California Buckeye
Hardhearts: memory metal blade that changes shape with a mild electric current:D

I like the lightsabre idea! Ok, how about a Khukuri lightsabre? Ya know for yardwork and such.

I'am gonna have to add the Terminator II's liquid metal arm. any blade all the time.

Other than those hairbrained ideas I don't really have any.

Busse Folder.
Wow. What would it withstand? It boggles the mind. That would be a folder
that would make the hairs on Mick Striders hair stand on end!

Peace.
