Brand New CRKT Hisshou with Collectible CRKT Hisshou Wooden Box. This in essence is a wakizashi. The steel used is YK-30 high carbon steel with a high satin finish. Blade length is 13", blade width is 1 5/16" and blade thickness is 0.26". Overall length is 18.38". The blade has a saber grind down to zero edge, i.e. there is no secondary bevel. The weight of the knife is 16.4 oz.
The handle is classic cord-wrapped with ray skin underlays, which compares very well to more modern handle materials, giving excellent grip under all conditions.
The Hisshou comes with a custom Kydex® sheath with a patented quick-release belt-mounting system. The sheath has detents which grip the knife securely and wide entry lips which allow the knife to be returned to the sheath with one hand. The belt clip can be attached with the Chicago screws provided for vertical carry. Simply press in the injection-molded nylon retaining clip for instant attachment or release.

James developed this design to meet the specific requests of coalition forces overseas for a more powerful tactical tool than his CRKT Hissatsu, which is in wide use. James Williams is the President of Bugei Trading Company, Inc. He has been studying martial arts since 1960 and teaching since 1975. James has trained, competed in, and taught a number of different martial disciplines: Japanese, Okinawan, Chinese, Filippino, as well as the Brazilian system of Jujitsu as taught by Rorion and Royce Gracie. His experience includes western wrestling, which he also coached, as well as competing in boxing and kickboxing.
