  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Brand new KMG is LOUD

I'd never thought about printing wheels, but using that type filament it should work just fine, and the wheel isn't too hard to draw up. A few yrs (2018) I ordered a UHMW 4" diameter rod to make wheels from that works pretty good.

Is the back belt wheel rubbing on the chassis? I had a KMG once and the key keeper screw would get loose and the wheel would move.
I don’t think so, I looked over everything pretty thoroughly, plus the loudness depends on the belt grit, so I’ve just been dealing with it for now.

Belt sound drops faster with distance than bearing sound. Close the windows and doors when grinding and nobody would care any more.

Just wanted to note my findings here.... I'm running 80-82db (at 4400 sfpm) with both a 36 grit actirox and 36 grit cubitron 3 belt when my phone is held about 10" away from the top platen wheel (where my head would normally be)

Thanks for that! Which grinder are you using, and what specs?
