Brand New Knife Makers???

Magnum I would have loved to have had a commercial belt grinder when i started making knives but I didnt have the money to invest in one, so I made one and its not hard to do, (I got my 3 signatures to join the guild with knives that i ground on that grinder after making knive for less than a year) but the thing is i've been making knives for 5 years now and i still use that same grinder, and I made another one for finsih grinds. I could use the money I'm making on my knives to buy a new one but since they work so well I'm using the money for other equipment and supplies. If a new knife maker really shows promise with his or her homemade piece of junk grinder, then that maker should be able to sell those knives and slowly upgrade his or her equipment. I dont think these guys are saying they dont like your idea, or wouldnt have liked a new grinder when they started, but sometimes its better to let people work it out on their own and if they stay with it they will be better makers when they do get that new grinder. I'll try to get out and get a picture of my grinders tonight and get them on my web site, if anyone wants to know more about building one they can e-mail me form my site.

I'm not good at typing out what i mean to say but I hope you get the idea. I better hit the submit button before I change my mind.

good point, i thought of making a grinder, but never went through with it, to much stuff to do, especially with the bandsaw taking up alot of free time, and funds. i'm adding a new motor, so i don't have to switch assemblies for metal and wood. it's really getting complex.
