I've got for sale one of the nicest hunting knives I've ever had the pleasure of handling. It's a brand new custom forged 5 1/8" O1 tool steel blade from Mike Malosh of Chaser Handmade Knives. I cannot tell you how incredibly balanced and natural this blade feels in the hand--it fills your hand like it was an extension of you. It is simply a work of art--functional and beautiful. Mike's attention to detail, craftsmanship, and choice of materials are on par with knives easily fetching 2-3 times what he asks. Mike's philosophy is to try to make a high quality piece that can be handed down generation to generation that the average working man can afford. He delivers in spades.
This particular blade comes with one of the nicer crown stag pieces I've seen on Mike's or anyone else's blades and one of the best color combos I've seen. I am reluctant to part with this, but I know I won't use this and it is too nice to sit in my safe--I personally prefer a drop or spear point. This knife needs to be used and appreciated.
The knife is brand new; never used. It comes with a high-end horse hide sheath by Jack Mosher. I noticed that there is a scratch near the tip (no idea how it got there)--there should be a pic of it below. Mike sells out at the shows he goes to and, while there are a few of these online at various places, none that I've seen are as nice, have the full 5" blade, or are priced as low.
