Brand New, never used or, carried before Woods Knife by Jared Oeser. Steel is CPM-154CM. Blade length is 5". blade width is 1.5", blade thickness is .145" and overall length is 10". The blade has a high convex saber grind with a convex micro bevel and etched flats. The convex is very slight, almost flat. This knife is extremely sharp! There is expertly made jimping that provides a comfortable thumb rest.
The handle material is redish canvas micarta. There are black G-10 spacers that add to the aesthetics. Also, Jared used black G-10 for the handle pins. There is an ample lined lanyard hole that is large enough to allow 550lbs paracord to be used through it. The knife fits my large size hand like a glove.
The custom handmade leather sheath is nothing but amazing. The knife rides deep and securely in it. It is a foldover pouch with welt. It carries elaborate leather work and bears the makers signature on the rear. It has a removable leather dangler/drop leg attachment which makes carrying the knife very comfortable even when you are sitted. The dangler loop, as well the the one which is on the sheath, will accommodate belts up to 2" wide.
There is a firesteel loop to the side, as well as, a firesteel also put there by Jared Oeser. The handle of the firesteel is made exactly the same way that the knife's handle is: redish canvas micarta with black G-10 spacer and an equal size lined lanyard hole. A piece of black paracord runs through it and forms a security loop so that the firesteel doesn't get out of its sheath carrier by accident.
This is a survival knife package that you can use from anything ranging from bushcraft all the way to skinning and butchering even the largest game. If I wanted to describe it with three words this is what I would use: Hefty, Beautiful, Sharp!
