I can't speak to the number of polished banner 111s that were built but you can expect to find both matte and polished banners. Both 3 and four dot blades. Both polished and satin blades and the polished blades had dots and Buck Custom Tang stamps. Further, for those of you who go for the really rare stuff, five were made from brass with satin blades and matte banners. By the way, the handles are not engraved they are coined in a process like they make our pocket change. FYI."

Thanks Oregon, for the info... I hope he will let you take some pics of it this year... ITE

Trick photography will have to do until ITE finds one at the swap meet or Mr. M. posts a pic. The brass-colored image is a reflection of a regular Buck 111 Classic (3 dot) in a gold colored mirrored piece of paper. You can sleep but can you dream?

Oregon, your killing me... But that's some cool pictures, for sure... I'm working on getting one of them in Brass... I just want to be sure what I'm getting, because this one could be different than Mr. Ms... So I was wondering if all 5 were made the same or if they were all different or a few more were made in the Custom shop by some ex-employees that are different... ... I haven't seen it yet or any pics... I hope to see it soon... It might not even work out, But I'm hoping it does... ITE

I betcha Leroy could make some handle slabs of brass, I could get some fancy engraving done on those handles (I'd prefer engraving similar to that on US paper money) and have Leroy pin or screw assemble (open up this knife for easier blade replacement) the handle onto a knife.

You know what. How bout if Buck did a collab. with Leroy? Dream come true IMHO.

why is it that things are allways so much more desireable when they are fashioned from Unobtanium!?? :)

ITE,

Maybe you could mention the brass 111 project to Leroy and get his take on feasibility next time you are swapping stories over the back fence.

I wonder where the dies ended up (the ones to stamp the design into the aluminum/brass)? Anyone...

Oregon, I'll give him a call... I'm working on getting one... It just takes time... I just wanted to see one, before I went to buy it... And I have the dies... ... LOL ... ITE
