That is outstanding. Butch you did an excellent job on it. Now everyone will ask if you are going to offer some for sale.

Looks good so far. I'll be back with the full report after wings & beer at our local watering hole :)

So, the after-dinner report on this burlap burl is that pictures don't do it justice. The depth of the grain in the burlap gives this stuff some really nice depth. It's definitely some very cool handle material.

These are just georgeous. Butch, does your Mycarta have any "tack" stickiness to it compared to micarta, or does it develop any tack when warmed by the sun? Thanks.

ive not had any report of any other of my handles getting soft or gummy in heat
i will how even next time i have my kiln running let it get to about 120 and see how things fair i l report back after that

Thanks, Butch. It's just a curiosity on my part about how these handmade phenolics compare to the industrial versions for "dryness". I'm not suggesting they'd get bad or anything, just wondering if they show any tack at all.

You definitely make the coolest versions of these that I have seen.....very attractive. I love 'em. :)

thanks i just keep trying new stuff so i can hopefully out do myself time and time again. after this batch its goignto be dame hard tho i think i may add green to the mix and see what happens

Nice! I'm wondering if you could get a diamondback pattern by folding it just right...
Nice contrast and depth.

ok tested at 120F on block that was as i would finish my knives = it didnt get tacky

i ll try and test at higher temp tonight after the 3v is done tempering
