Hey guys,
I'm needing to get some brass for a sword handle I'm making for a customer. Just wondering if you all had any recommendations on who to use, and are they reasonably priced. The company I get my steel from doesn't have brass.

Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,
Does he have his heart set on brass? Bronze is better and available from your local foundry. What size do you need? I may have some or either one.

Hey check out your local junkyard/recycle center we have a couple around us and my friend got a huge (must be like 30pounds) bar of brass. Hey did not pay more than 5 bucks for it.

I'd have to find out if he'll do bronze instead of brass. I would imagine he would. The sword is full tang, so I really only need about 4 pieces, about 2 inches by 3 inches by 1/4 inch or 3/16. I don't really know how they come, so that may not even be an option. We don't have a foundry around here, so I guess I'll need to try the scrap metal yards; but if you have thoughs that would be great, just let me know what you'll take for them.

Thanks guys.

If you are in Springfield go to Rose Metal co. off of Division street there in town. i used to buy all my brass from them .
