brass guard ?

I had a question about a guard and it being stotted a little a little wide.I was told that i could cut a thin piece of brass and trim it to fit and close the hole up ,however i am not sure how to attach the thin piece to the guard.Could someone tell me?Thanks Keith

How much is a little? It could be filled with solder but I like to peen the slot then regrind flat. Peening will fill the void and make a nice tight fit.

What Chuck said.... run a punch and hammer along the back of the guard near the slots, grind flat and then refile the slot to clean up or just hammer the dang thing down j/k

JB Weld; then clean it up with a rag dampened in WD40.

Thanks to all for the advice.I was able to fix one of them,the other i made a new guard.
