Brass Investigator Pen - Will these become available again?

Hi,
I've long admired the Hindered knives and pens, I've pretty much accepted I won't get my hands on an XM-18 for a while (I'm in Australia, making it a bit more difficult again), but I'm super keen on buying an Investigator pen in brass. These seem to be sold out at every online dealer I can find, and being a bit of a noob I'm not sure whether this means I'm out of luck and have missed out, or whether these will become available again in the future? I've got a number of other 'tactical' pens, but prefer the less aggressive look of this beauty in brass, and the size makes it easily pocketable.
Thanks, Matt

PM Rob Orlando - he is very responsive and should be able to give you an estimate of when the next batch is due to hit the street.

I have the brass investigator pen - and it's well worth it IMHO.

I think when a batch is done there are enough that Dealers and Hinderer website have them.

In the next 30 days!

This should hit at the right time since I'm looking at getting an investigator pen. I just can't decide if I want the black one or stainless steel. The extra half ounce of the SS pen wouldn't be anything to make it drastically heavy IMO. In my experience, however, I have felt that aluminum pens feel cheaper than stainless ones. BUT I will be looking for a light weight pen to carry in my pocket when I don't have a shirt pocket to slip it in to. Thoughts?

I have both, aluminum and SS investigators, and I gotta tell ya brother, the SS investigator rocks. I LOVE that small amount of added weight. It just makes it feel like a more reliable, and more well made tool. I know that in all honesty the aluminum is every bit as well made, but the SS just feels SOOOO much better, in my opinion. I can't wait for the next run of SS investigators, as I plan to buy at least one more, just in case... hey, ya never know!

I think I've made up my mind to get a brass one. Now I just gotta wait until they come out again.

I just picked up my first Extreme Duty. WOO HOO!! The investigator was just a tad too small for my freakishly large hands, but it was so nice I had to have something like it. I'll post my thoughts when it arrives. I'd love to see the Extreme Duty in in SS and brass as well.

We have some Extreme Duty pens nearly done in Brass, we actually took the first one to NY for folks to check out. Rob Rhees is running the last operation on the bodies, once the finish work is done they will be on the site. We've not made any progress on the Investigators though, since we've been running all of the full size stuff first. Those are going to be another month I am afraid, so sorry for the delay...

thanks for the update Rob/Rick.

Waiting will give me some time to recuperate some funds. I can't wait to check out the brass!

I'm guessing another 4-6 weeks... I know they've been really busy with all the knife shows and knives in general

But, for conversation sake, I got my titanium investigator pen. At first, I was having a hard time deciding which I liked better, the titanium or the ss, because I absolutely LOVE that little bit of added weight the ss has, but the titanium has grown on me, and I do indeed love it. I don't know what it is about that stuff but I loves me some titanium. Heck, I ended up retiring my gold wedding ring for a titanium one of that says anything... But yea, a little off topic, but I loves me some titanium!! And I loves me some investigator pen greatness, so I'm definitely happy with my latest bead blasted pen goodness...

I was fortunate enough to handle a brass one at BLADE this year, and they are definitely nice too!!

thanks for the info brad! i cant wait to get my brass on order...

from what i understand, the SS weighs more than the brass. can you expand more on the brass? im looking for a pen that's not too heavy to hang from my neck lanyard at work that is easily accessible. right now, i have a sharpie clicky pen, but i would like something more dependable. i have settled on the investigator pen, no doubt about that. but should i wait for the brass, or just spring for the aluminum one?

It definitely weighed less than the SS, best I can remember. I think it would serve that purpose well. The aluminum is super light weight, but almost to a fault in my modest opinion...
