Brass is back on the menu... GEC #44

Well with all the hype (and beautiful pictures) I caved and ordered a 44 ebony last week, and it arrived this morning! It seems like this knife is actually a touch longer than 3.5" closed, but holy cr@p do they pack a lot of blade in there! I filed the kick on the pen blade to make the main a it easier to access, pulls are maybe a heavy 6 on each - about perfect for me. The knife is super comfortable in hand, blades both came shaving sharp, and the ebony scales are jet black and beautiful. I tend to prefer bare end jacks, but the square-ish butt on this one is perfect with a bolster. Happy to spend some more time with this one. My only wish is that it were all steel...

Hey Barry” That was Fast !!! “ Looks like mine is waiting for me at home  Now if I ever can get off work lol .

image.jpeg DLT Trading has the OD Green Micarta for sale right now!!:) Get it while you can.
One thing that I was surprised to see was the PPP on this one. I had heard that since the Ebony was the true first one that it would probably be the only one with the triple P's. I hope it is OK to post the picture here, if not, mods please delete. Thanks.

I just got my Gunstock Jack from Gunstockjacks Knives. Seems appropriate. I wasn't sure about this one before I got it, but its a keeper. The ebony is deep dark and the knife is weighty; it actually weighs more than my Northwoods Presidential.

Comparison shot with some other ebony.

They do pack a lot of blade in this new Buffalo Jack. Mine is actual measurement of 3.54", and the clip main comes to within about a tenth of an inch of the end of the blade well, just enough not to snag. Great knife!

On the 43s the Tidioutes all had ppp but the Northfields didn’t.

I've been waiting until the jigged bone drops to take a closer look, but one thing about BF is that when people starting flashing their new knives, the collective appreciation makes your eyes get bigger and bigger. I had told myself that I'm done swapping out knives in my collection, because I thought I'd finally got to a spot where I could just enjoy what I've got, but now I'm curious again. . .

I think this 44 run should make you very happy if you just happen to acquire a couple :D

A nice looking pair, mmhmmm. That chunky tuna valley clip looks quite good, but the GEC is just sleek. I know I'm going to have to try the jigged bone when it comes out. I was actually hoping that Mike might get a factory second or two so I could get one on the cheap, but apparently GEC is just nailing it in this run.

The year of the clip point for GEC! Every model that has had this blade looks outstanding IMO! I'm really looking forward to the brass on this one.

Anybody know where I can find a pic of the GEC #44 Gunstock with the Clip blade closed and the Pen blade fully open?
