Brass Maintenance?

I need advice on maintaining brass handled khukuris, specifically, what to use to clean and keep the brass from tarnishing? Do I treat it the same way as the blade, i.e. use Sentry Tuff Cloth?

Here in Reno we use a product called "Brasso" and it works pretty good.

You can coat it with polyurethane to absent green hands.

That's another thing I hate about brass handles. And there is a smell to it that I don't like. Maybe too long at sea.

Pakcik Bill, Julian ...

I used brasso to shine the brass parts of my Khukuris - I tried it on the the blades as well - seems it works pretty well!

Yesterday, a friend of mine gave me a Lyman metal polishing cloth and I used it to wipe off the finger prints on the brass handle of the Banspati (which, by the way, is a serious piece of work. The best I have seen so far). The handle is now shinny and looks even better. Does anybody know whether this product is abrasive?
