Brass plated BK2

I think the patina from brass would look nice! Who wants to machine some solid brass scales to go with it? Or maybe some copper scales.

Ladies and Gentleman.... I give you a gold plated BK2.. Uhmmm I mean Ak

th

Sorry that's the first thing I pictured when I thought of the brass plating.

My random thoughts on this:

1. "Useful" being the keyword the only modification that's truly useful is to polish the blade.... the smoother it is the more useful it will be going through wood.

2. The next "useful" modification would be to sharpen the edge... the edge that Haze put on his BK9 was a major improvement.... to something that was already great.

As long as the brass is "smooth" then knock yourself out but it's no improvement over polishing. Any etching, coatings just help to act as a "brake"... the new Beckers have a griptape finish just like the ESEE's have always had... I atleast like to knock the "shoulder" off of the blade to help but those coatings are like going downhill with the brakes on.

Here's some inspiration and a perfect example of what I consider "useful"... a member here sent me this knife last month and it's pretty awesome... the spine is slightly rounded off to help in not shredding up a baton too.

Sounds really cool, brass and then maybe polished up, would love to see it, might look too nice to use :)

This is Novacan copper patina, not quite polished brass, but it gets the point across...
