Getting excited to be back working again, with an almost completely new setup and equipment. New forge, new layout table, treadle hammer, electric blower setup on the forge instead of handcrank(new for me, been using handcrank since, almost ever), and most of all new shop(much bigger than the old one) it is like I am starting all over again almost. Will have the chimney up which wil be the last peice of the puzzle, the ceremonial lighting of the first fire in the new forge then back up for business. Been away from the fire too long:D.

Wednesday Thursday Friday, doing the railing work for my boss, but will soon be at the shop regularly every Saturday. I'll let yah know when i start regular hours again Robert for sure. Not sure if i'll be there tommorrow, been at it since wednesday of last week, so i am taking the weekend off, i'll definately be there next Saturday though, and hopefully by then the forge will be up and running.

Hey Mike, the first things will probably be a few sets of bladesmithing tongs, i got quite a few interests and orders. Also on deck will be a cross pein and a japanese bladesmith hamer from some 1045, and i'll probably try out some of the W1 i got from Aldo too and see what it wants to be. I have a couple swords i forged the bevels on but did not straighten my teacher is looking to get started on, and also a linstock for a local guy who is into and fires his own cannon! A linstock is basically a spear, with a cross bar with rolled tubes on the end, each little tube holds the end of a slow match for lighting the powder or fuse on the canon. Mounted on a 10 foot pole with a butt spike. I have been so long from the forge, it will surely be a LONG day when i finally get up and running again.

Oh yeah, also got some A2 and O1 flat bar from Mitch(Troop) i will be forging into SOMETHING good. Might have enough to do a
O1 short sword. Gonna be experimenting with some damascus soon in the next month or two.

Sam,
I ordered a 1 x 30 for you this morning to help you out, since you liked mine so much. A little gift of appreciation for helping me out so much with my forging. I know it's not much, but hope it helps.
- Thanks again, Bro'.

Thanks Mitch! That will make putting edge bevels on hammer forged blades SO much easier and nicer! Sweet little grinder:D, kinda quirky but very cool. Monday or Tuesday good for you this week?

Got the blower and hammers in today. The blower is almost TINY, but it puts out ALOT of air. Hammers are great too, the 4.4 is a BIT bigger than i thought it would be, but will work great for a Page style swing technique:cool:.

I thought you didn't need that anymore now that you've got the treadle hammer (I gotta make me one of those)

Yeah, the treadle will hopefully replace alot of the heavy work, but i do still enjoy working heavy stock by hand also. I will still be able to form tapers and scrolls and curves and bends and other delicacies much easier by hand hammer.
