Bravo-1

Interesting... thats the first picture I've seen of a Bravo 1 and a Gunny side by side... for some reason, I pictured the Gunny as being significantly smaller than its larger counterpart... guess I was a bit off. Might have to grab a Gunny, too. :-)

Can't wait until it arrives... Unfortunately my camera is on the fritz, so wont be able to provide any photos... but I'll certainly provide my initial thoughts on the blade once it arrives....

The anticipation is killing me!!!

I've had mine a while and it's a great blade with one of the most comfortable handles ever made. I still use it occaisonally, but prefer a similar sized knife with a thinner blade.

Sigh... all these pics are making me wish the knife had arrived a week before I ordered it!!! Heading into DC this weekend to help a friend move... hopefully it'll be here when I get back!

Bravo-1 is a sweet knife. Like Doc, I had to have two:D
Shown here with a Gunny in the middle. I think you're going to like it.

Hey IUKE, since, like me, you're such a Bravo 1 fan, what's your thoughts on the Gunny (not that I need another knife :o )

Doc

i like my B1.....no hot spots......i prefer something bigger for my edc at work for chopping capabilities....but the B1 is good and low profile for around town!

its certainly a winner!

Hey Doc, the gunny is nothing like the bravo, although they share the same overall design, the Gunny is much slimmer in hand, The ramp on the Bravo doesn't bother me at all, on the Gunny it was a problem. My thumb naturally indexed right on the peak of the ramp every time I picked it up. After a few weeks of that, I took it to the belt sander and it is much improved. If you like the Bravo, you will like the Gunny but do you need one:D I still prefer my Bravo over the Gunny, but I must admit to favoring Mr. Gunny for those bare bones, light romps in the woods.

Thank you, sir. Like you, the ramp on the Bravo doesn't bother me, in fact, I like it. Have to think about the Gunny.

Doc

I liked the first one so much, I had to buy a second.

Me too! But I opted for an SS version (w/o Thumb-ramp for me) for a keeper, and ended up selling the original A2 to raise funds for other knives. Glad you got the leather sheath, absolutindian, because the kydex one is quite disappointing. Don't have any in use pics right now. I got the Bravo-1 early in my knife career (luckily!), before I acquired a taste for taking glamour and in-use shots of knives:o My SS Bravo-1 hasn't seen much use yet either, I've been playing with other knives since I sold my original A2 Bravo....

The Bravo-1 is tied for my favorite knife, right up there with my NWA custom. I absolutely love the handle on it. To me, a good hand-filling, hotspot free, comfortable handle is a big deal; I won't use a knife if it doesn't feel good in hand. The Bravo-1 nails it. The handle contours fit my hand very well.

I agree with IUKE, The Gunny is a perfect knife for a quick jaunt through the woods . Haven't had a chance to USE it extensively yet, but it seems to be a great knife . I don't yet know how much I like the smaller handle relative to the full-sized Bravo, but it's still very comfortable. What I wish to see, is a Bravo-1 with the thickness of the Gunny. Now THAT would be a knife hard to beat for me :D

Great knife. I like the thump ramp on the Bravo-1, but not on the Gunny. I need to remove it one of these days.

I'm thinking a Bravo-1 and PSK piggybacked would be a nice a little combo :)

the posted video of the B-1 was pretty convincing at it's utility as a bushcraft knife

gotta say that I'm glad i sold my Bravo1. I found it to be both too small and too large for my "only one blade" if that makes sense. Just didn't work for me - way too thick for fine stuff and too small to chop. The Gunny looks much more functional to me.
