My friends.

Jean Callegari, a brazilian knifemaker and forumite, from Rio Grande do Sul, makes a great tutorial, where he teach your way to make and atach a knife guard.
This tecnique, is absolutely new for me, i never had see that way. Simple, cheap, and works very well. I call " "Callega´s guard fiting way".
I hope you like it.

Standard technique for the the most part. One of the keys is to have a shoulder on all four sides of the blade. Another way to prevent a "gotcha" is that instead of using just a file guide is to have a flat piece of stock secured on top of the file guide or whatever you are using to clamp the blade. With the flat piece, and a slot cut in it so the tang will fit up thru it, will prevent the shoulders on the sides of the blade from having a bow in it.

A one thing very interesting in this tutorial, is the way to cut a hole in the guard.
I search to many years in the net, and i never, never see, a demonstration like that. I knew that idea is not new, but in the net, or all knife forums, they never had demonstrated. Using a jewelry saw to cut a guard, specially to do not have a drill press, is a amazing, and acurracy (?) way.
sorry the english guys.
