Lone Hunter,
One business I knew was dismayed to discover the fire safe they had purchased at Wal-Mart was so easily shattered and the contents looted. Why any legitimate business would store that much cash in an unsecured office in a ~$40 fire safe amazed me.
John,
You seem pretty convinced a member of this forum broke into your house to steal your knives (unless I am totally confused by your recent post). Do you have any proof a forum member was responsible? Someone knowledgeable about knives would probably seek out someone with more valuable knives (a dealer perhaps or someone making a recent purchase of an expensive custom) but, what do I know? I buy my knives, I don't steal them unless you count some good deals I've gotten from the for sale forum.
The invasion of your home can be a traumatic experience. The loss of a few knives can be overcome but, the loss of security felt after the invasion is a much harder issue to resolve.
I hope you find safety and security again in your house and, that all is well with your family.
Sid
