I got home from work to find my basement door kicked in,my gun safe is down there so i checked on that first, its bolted to the floor...they tried to get in it but failed.

Went upstairs to see if anyone was still in the house(with rem 870 in hand) but the theif/theives were already gone.

I went to my bedroom where my knives are stored in the bottom of the closet......DAMN ,ALL MY 110'S ARE GONE,except the 2 110's i sent Joe last month,my whole collection is gone, including my pocket knife collection!

The knives are unreplaceable!I have insurance ,but money can't replace my customs, and my old pocketknives,i'm still in disbelief!

This is a small town,if they take em' to a pawn shop i'll know.man i am pissed right now, sorry i had to vent.

My wife doesn't even want to stay here now,but she knows she is safe with me,so i think she will be ok.

Man that sucks,at least your all ok and they didn't get into the guns,

Best of luck in finding your missing blades.

Loto

Likely it's somebody you know, who knows about your guns and knives.

Anyone who knows me would not break into my home and steal my things,I guess there has been a rash of break and enters in the neighborhood, everything from lawnmowers to bbq's have disappeared.

RCMP Have a few suspects, will know more in the am.

My deepest sympathy. I hope they catch the thieves and you recover your knives. I never would have expected such a thing in 'small town' Nova Scotia.

Man ...that really doe's suck..Some one stole a 112 from me back

in 1977, and I am still mad about that one.I am truly sorry for your loss.

Hawkeye

Bty some one just took ,like stole..my 270 Rose Dorado and it still burn's my ...

But I have a good Buck Brother in California that gave up one of

his so that I would not be with out one. P.M. me you address.

Jeff

Sorry sack of S..T thieves.
keep a close eye out for them even on e-bay,garage sales, flea markets,2nd hand stores ,sporting goods and as you said pawn shops.
I hope they are caught and your knives returned in good shape.
They knew what they were getting.

Well, somebody knew you had a gun collection and knives, and he/they knew when you were going to be gone, so...

Had a similar experience once. Turned out a bunch of neighborhood 'kids' were breaking into homes, ripping off anything loose (lost my first Russell belt knife that way), coins, etc. The cops got them but I never got my knife back. I would happily have skinned those little b*stards with a rusty file. Being Canada, they probably got a kiss on each cheek and a warning:mad: .

Sorry to hear this RB!!!!,

That sucks. I hope you find the A..HOLE and get a little justice. It sucks that someone or someones got your knives....however it's the personal violation that will take the longest to get over..if ever. I hope you can track em down in your small town.

Nothing so far this morning,i'm guessing some crackheads got my knives and don't even know what they took,If I was home,it would of been a learning experience for whoever i came across,Gong into town here in a bit to check a few hops, but i doubt i'll find my knives.

AHHH Summertime.. Yup, school is out and the kids have nothing better to do I suppose. What ever happened to summer time jobs like cutting lawns, paper routs and washing dishes just to name a few?

It happens every year at this time when school lets out. We currently have the exact same problem here in Loxahatchee, Florida. Tools, guns, boat motors, hell even my Fireman neighbor 4 acres down the road just lost his GMC pick-up truck with his beautiful vintage Boston Whaler attached to these confounded thieves. Fortunately, the Sheriff's department took it serious and found his rig before the punks had a chance to sell any of it.

RAZORBLADES,

You have got some pretty darn good advice from the other fine members here. Follow it and I hope you get all your knives back. I will follow this thread in hopes of a good outcome for you.

Many Blessings,
Anthony

Razorblades -- Sorry to hear about this... too bad those bastards didn;t get a little lead poisoning from that 870...

If you have pictures, please post them there are a few here including me that will keep an eye open.

Nothing turned up anywhere i looked today,I am guesing young teenagers by the prints the cops got,and shoe marks on my door, what kills me is knowing i lost 4 custom hunting knives that were handmade by a guy who pased away, money cannot replace those things, keep in touch with any new info thanks for the support guys!

Reference the comment that it is somebody you know.

Usually it is somebody that knows of you or has knowledge of you through brief contacts or friends/relatives/neighbors. Did they only target your knives and guns? If so, they know you. If they took other things like DVD players, jewelry, stereo equipment, liqour, video games, food, etc. Then they may not know you. Those things are what kids and dopers usually take to sell quickly or use for themselves.

Being as they tried to get into the gun safe shows they weren't prepared for it, so they did not know your setup, but they may have known you keep guns and were looking for them. Keep looking at the pawn shops and on EBay. If they were kids, they're too young to pawn. So if you know any kids, ask them to keep their ears open for any kids selling knives and to let you know.

There also are the random break-ins where they pull into your drive way and knock on your door to see if anyone is home. If they don't get an answer, they go around back and kick the door in or break a window open. These suspects most of the time just drive around looking for good houses and don't always stay in the same area. These usually don't get caught until someone witnesses them or the property connects them to it.

Hope this helps. I worked as a burglary detective for quite awhile and know how frustrating it can be for you. Take care.

I have not heard back from the rcmp ,but m guess is they are long gone.

I have lots of hunting buddies keeping their eyes and ears open at yard sales and pawn shops,I am trying to be positive about h whol thing.

I have goo insuran so at least i can get some customs built when i get the money.

Razorblades,
A burglary can be a very stressful experience. I completely understand how your wife feels. Hopefully you can take stock of how he managed to break in and make changes (replace with a solid core door with a one inch deadbolt). Were the knives the only thing they took? I'll keep my fingers crossed that they are really dumb and try to pawn the lot of them.
Mike
