Break out the big boys

Lots of nice big knives here, but that T. Bose is my favorite. Production or handmade, I like those bullet knives.

Hello Phil, I'm sure that you have some nice big folders too, here's some of mine:

Puma 570, Puma Prince, Case three dot 6165-L, Boker hunter.

These really are big'uns 5.5" closed floding hunters also known as Beaver Tail pattern. Great stag scales on both.

Very nice knives guys and thanks for posting that WrayH, Ray Cover makes an excellent knife.

In regards to Tony Bose, I've had the pleasure of having several pass through my shop for a fitup and he makes some LARGE folders! But he says that he just plops them into his pocket and carries then loose that way, man, he must have some large pockets, they seem too large for me to pocket carry but I see that others do it that way so must be ok.

I've gone the other way, using smaller knives as of late, so no images to share at this time, but reading through this thread, it does spark an interest in getting a larger folder. :)

AG Russell about 7 7/8" open

I love this and the PJ Tomes Moutain Man style. I will have to do some research on the Tomes.

Thanks for the great pics.

Oh my, you fellas have some mighty handsome folders !....I don't own any lage ones ( unless you can count a coupl'a Schrade lockbacks: Uncle Henry LB7 Bear Paw and an Old Timer 125 ) however I sure apprecaite looking at yours. Trouble is now I'm getting an itch that needs scratching so to speak. I've been eyeing a Schatt and Morgan File and Wire "Mountain Man" in AST-34 and Golden Root Bone over on Bill Horns site at Cumberland:

Might have to make gift of one to myself this holiday season.

I don't see how a guy could go wrong on one of these...I think I'm gonna have to order one. Any first hand experience out there?

That's my biggest one:
navaja.jpg

nearly 12" open
comes with me on trips in the countryside :)
I have one of those, too, a JJ Martinez from Albacete.

Was surfing around on fleaBay, saw this nice shiny navaja for a ridiculously low price; length wasn't specified, but somehow looked like ~4"... riiiiight... So I jumped on it. I got it, and it's a tad over 6" blade!!! Whoops. Even my CS Vaquero Grande seems to cower a little when it sees the navaja. Guess no pocket carry here in the People's Democratic Republic of New Joisey!! :o

Just picked up a Winchester Jumbo Coke Bottle.

It was made in 1990 and is just over 5" closed with a 4.25" blade.

Also snagged a nice sized Crowder Sowbelly that I posted in a separate thread.

I got too many to post pics of. I have boker folding hunter, 2 schrade folding hunters, 2 schrade I-xl lockbacks as well as 2 schrade lb 7's, a buck 110, and a puma.

I've been wanting a Fight'n Rooster pearl folding hunter but just haven't gotten around to getting one yet.

Love them big old folder knives, my favorites! Here's the three that I have: Case Brothers 6165 antique bone, Schatt & Morgan F&W Mountain Man, and Buck Millenium Trapper. The Buck is a Camillus made Remington bullet knife commemorative, brown jigged bone 4-1/2''. Planning on buying one more this year, for Christmas hopefully, and I can't make up my mind which to get to go with my others: Case cranberry bone 6265, Boker 2020, or maybe the older Bulldog 5-1/4'' jigged bone hunter at my favorite cutlery store. I want a Case stag folding hunter, but prices are about $300 for the ones I like, so that's a "maybe later" thought!

The Schrade 75th anniversary heavily engraved Clasp knife. There were two issues, this one and a much more limited and expensive one.

I really like the Cripple Creek Clasp knife shown above. Just beautiful.

Shown laying on an African big cat I'd just skinned!

Phil,

Wow, I like this Schrade better than the big Graham Clayton that you showed before. Great background too!!!.

Luis, I think one of our fellow Schrade forum members has one of the gold-filled, extra rare one of these 75th issues. I'd place a value on one of those, mint in box with papers at $400. now that's getting up into Custom knife expense range.

I've really really enjoyed this thread. Anyone have more to show? How about some Case knives in this big Clasp pattern or some Grizzlies, or old 'King of the Woods' knives?

Thanks to everyone who has shown off his big one!

Phil

Traded for a new folding hunter, a Hen and Rooster in red jigged bone. Here's pictures: Can anyone tell from the tang stamps, pre or post 1985 H&R?? This thing is just LOVELY!

edit to add: I am really thinking this knife is built by Boker, it just looks so similiar to the Boker 2020's.
