Breaking-in a knife

I have seen new knives with gunk and grit here and there, leftovers from handling, polishing, a just plain dirty manufacturing environment, who knows. Cleaning that out or just working it out after a little use can certainly lead to an improvement. I wouldn't call that "break in" so much as "clean in" but the result is the same: better fit.
 
My ZT0301 was fantastic out of the box, but I'd say that after I took it apart (just because), it's a bit better. I think the Speedsafe is a bit better now that I filled the spring cavity with grease, also eliminating the rattle some AOs have.
