I love it Colorado Dave!
Great points to all. Having never been married, this has been an issue. I only have about 4 people that actually know about all the knives I own and even they can't remember them all. I do handle it as a matter of fact, but I usually only have a few knives at a time exposed. I try to take my collection photos when the gf is gone. It's not that I am afraid to tell them about how many I have or how much they cost, I feel it isn't really any of their business as I don't ask them how much they spend on manacures or haircuts neither of which can be resold.
I did have one girlfriend that horded money like she was going to live for 200 years and never could understand the money I spent on any hobby I had. She didn't do much like dive, fish, hunt...a real bore. :barf: They come in all shapes and moods.
At any rate, I keep most of my knife stories to myself. If something exciting happens or I get a really cool knife I will not be able to keep it to myself. Like it was said, it is just another hobby to me, like scuba diving, dive trips, reef tanks, computers, guns, etc. That is just who I am...if they don't like it...see ya later. Next!
