Breaking the Benchmade Griptillion

That was surprising, I didn't expect to see that part of the knife break. Equally impressive is that the blade only bent.

Wow pretty impressive! I always knew that Grip was a champ! I'd be curious to see what would break first on the gold class grip with the carbon fiber handles.
 
BM uses Valox for their handles , I wonder if Zytel would have cracked ?

Anyone tried this with Zytel ?

If the handle was metal the blade would of snapped, I've seen a lot of knives under-go the final execution after pissed-off owners broke large chunks of tip or large chips from the edge. The handle breaking like this is what you really want to happen compared to other scenarios.

It did a good job and this knife serves a lot of people overseas, one of the few good ones they peddle off in military exchanges anymore.
