Hi all,
I just finished this knife on new years eve. I was thinking that it will be my new main user for the kitchen. It has a 4.5" long is 3/32" thick with a 1.5" wide blade and has a 4.25" long handle. This is the first time I have ever put cocobolo wood scales on one of the knives I have made. I really like the looks of them. I battoned it through some seasoned mulberry wood and then made up a couple of fuzz sticks as you can see in the pics. So far so good:D

This pic is a little out of focus.

I think it will work cutting up some veggies

Thanks for looking.

I love it! Bryan, I may be contacting you soon! Off topic, where did you get the back you use as a day pack? I remember you discussing it months back, but forgot where you said it was from. Thanks, Steve.

Dang 'Ol Bud:eek: You are killing me ! You keep bringing out all these Awsome knives. My wallet is still weak from the Christmas drainage :p & now you want to show this new model off !!! OOOH my aching head/wallet.Well I guess I'll add this to my 2009 knife list :D
That is a real looker! like the profile & the handle !

Cool knife! I like the angle you put on the butt end of the handle. Also, the brass/cocobolo combo looks real nice.

someone just asked me if its " dishwasher safe". excuse me , while i go beat hell out of her. :D:thumbup:

Nice looking knife Bryan.

For regular kitchen use I like a little more of a 'drop edge', i.e. the handle is up near the spine with room for your knuckles when the edge hits the cutting board. Like a chef's knife or santuko.

Nevertheless, she looks like a keeper.

Hi all,
Thanks for all kind words and the feed back.:D After I took those pics. I put a cider viniger patina on it. I will take a couple of pics with it later and post them. My Brother in law sees most of the knives I make and gets to handle them to and he says nice things but last night after I got it all done. I was showing the family and Neil just keep handling it and switching it from hand to hand and looking at it and saying how he liked. I bet he held onto that knife for several minutes. He has never done that. LOL he kept saying that this is going to make a great kitchen knife. Well kathy wispers to me I think
I think you should make him one. LOL I think she is right.

Ok now to answer some ?s Rockywolf Did you mean what PACK i carry
you wrote Back. Is it the sling bag that I carry that you are asking about?
Can you email me at tacklebreeden@yahoo.com. I can get you more info and I even have an extra one all sewed up and could send it to you (if you would like try one out and see if you really like it or not then you would not have to buy one and then if you did not like it you would not be out any money) all you have to do is put your canteen and other survival goodies in the little pouch that I have sewed to the sling part. Just e-mail me and we can go from there if you want.
Thanks for the kind words on the knife I made. I do not know about a hot seller but if some one wants to get one I will make one for them.

Coaldigger Sorry about this and your wallet LOL. But at least most of the knives I make cost less than $100:D this one is still under a $100:thumbup: and are not $200 or $300 or more:eek:. That should help out some LOL
Thomas thanks again for the kind words on this knife.

Side cutter LOL that is a good one. I think you might be better off by educating her on good knife care:D Besides you will have to sleep sometime LOL an getting smacked up side the head with a frying pan while taking a nap.
Stinks LOL. not that I know of course;) LOL

Rotte Maybe the next one I make will have more of a drop point. Yea the handle does sit up higher so I will not rap my knuckle. That is why I made this one out of so wide of a peace of steel.

Long bow the width of the blade is just under a 1.5" wide.

Thanks again for all the kind words about this knife I made.

Bryan

That's a good looking knife Bryan. Should do great in the kitchen. I might like a little more drop from the handle to the edge and another inch of length.

This one looks like a winner.

that looks great. i like your knives alot, but the orange micarta isnt really my thing, so the wood handles are a great alternative.

Great blade design and your handles are looking VERY nice!

I love wood, but, if it's not ridiculously dry when installed on a knife, the loss of moisture in Winter months shrinks the scales and leaves an annoying, sharp edge all the way around the scales. I think highly oily SA hardwoods are not as subject to this as NA hardwoods though. As "traditional" as I tend to like things, I have shy'd from wooden handles but some make it very difficult to pass on - like that one.

I have an Ohio Tool wooden jack plane that is useless for refurbishing and I don't like decorations. It appears to be made of Apple and it would make some great scales. I also have a bucket of "trenails" (Hickory pegs) from my Dad's former P&B barn. I may need some blades again, Bryan.:o

Your handi-work is beginning to evolve from a status of "homespun charm appeal" to a "professionally hand-crafted" appeal. I was once concerned about losing that original, nostalgic character but the new, more refined character is just as appealing. Something you are doing is still maintaining that character and I like it as much as always.

Hi all,

Rocketbomb and Spooky thanks again for the kind comments on this knife that I made.

BarberFobic 1992 yea that is ok if the orange is not your thing I got Blue and Red G-10 LOL:D But seriously I use a bunch of different handle materails.

Jeff H. thanks I am glad you you like this one to. As to the evolving LOL thing. I am not sure what to say, but I hope this pic of a new knife I finished up today has not lost the original nostalgic character with this Roach Belly knife I made up. LOL

It has a 4.75" long by 3/32" thick by just under 1.5" wide blade with a 4.75" long handle with osage wood for the handle scales.

In the back ground there is the Knife with the cocobolo wood scales and the viniger patina on it.
Thanks again for the kind words on the cocobolo knife made up
