Woohoo! I got my new Breeden last week, and I've had a few opportunities to get out and use it. So far, AWESOME. This knife is new for me in several categories: First Breeden, first knife in the 4.5" - 6.5" category (it's 5.5!), first O1 knife, first knife with hollow pins, first knife with a high flat grind, with a super polished convex edge, and my first leather sheath.
5.5" blade, 1 and 3/16" wide, 5/32" thick O1 steel
4.75" handle, 10.25" OAL
Brown micarta w/ white liners and hollow pins
This knife is based off of his Blackwood Bushcraft design, with just a few tweaks.
The handle fits my hands near perfectly. A few of my knives have handles that are too short, too narrow, and too thin. I've got big hands, and this knife fills them out nicely.
The blade is very strong, batoning seems to be a popular method for smacking a knife around, and I love doing it! I put it through some very thick wood, and the tip really look a beating. It went through the wood very easily.
It just rips wood away, yet it will also make some perfectly thin and wide curls. I was able to choke up on the blade quite easily, for some fine work.
After near abuse of the knife, it still makes fuzz sticks and removes hairs easily. I'm still learning the convex edge, and Bryan does a great job with them. For me, pictures are better than words on knife reviews, so here are a lot!
A few from a recent trip out:
The wood that it split:
Some of my pants don't have belt loops, so a little paracord belt was all that was needed since this knife is so light! I love this sheath:

I've been trying to find a good blade length, and I think 5-6" is it! My BK7 is just too big for me.
My only critiques of this blade are that it isn't a great chopper, though I didn't expect it to be at all. I was able to chop through some small diameter live trees though, and using a baton to drive it through worked great as well. If I get another blade from Bryan, I might try a 6" blade, that is 1 and 1/4 or 3/8" wide, and maybe just a tad thicker. This would add a lot of weight, but might allow it to chop a little more.
Bryan was excellent to work with! He made the knife quickly, gave great blade advice, and answered emails almost instantly.
