Brent's used to be (may still be) president of the New Zealand custom knifemaker's guild. Does some great knives. You can see his offerings at http://www.brentsandowknives.com/ . This is his larger Whitetail Hunter model. It was an ordered piece I got about 2 years ago. Fitted right in with my collection then, but now I've moved on to other things.

Blade: 4" ATS-34. Overall length 9". Handle is stabilized buckeye burl that I selected and sent to him. Guard is mirror polished 303 stainless, as are the pins.

The grind on the blade and the hand rubbed finish are impeccable. The sculpted handle is very comfy in the hand. The plunge cut is totally symmetrical. This would have been a perfect knife except for the small flaws in the guard. Brent didn't get his fit and finish on the guard as good as he normally does. In the right light and angle, the pin outline can be seen at the upper area of the guard, and on the left side there's the slightest gap between guard and ricasso. I did two close up shots at the end so you can see. It's still much better done than many knives in this price range, and Brent discounted the price he normally charged for this model because of those small flaws. Some may not be bothered by those flaws, but I list them for full disclosure. The price I quote here is the price I paid for it.
