Does anyone have information about a Brewer Maine canoe hatchet? picked one up at a flea market...really well made and on the lightweight end of the size scale.

Paul,

Welcome to the forums! Hope to hear from you a lot more.

I'm sorry that I'm not familiar with your hatchet. Any chance of posting a picture?

I have a "P-V Canoe Hatchet" from Brewer, Maine and am interested in any information I can get. I think this is the same as above. It has a leather sheath that says "Peavey Mfg Co.... Brewer, Maine"
Have pictures.

Same here--I live just 15 minutes away from there and I'd be very interested in seeing a picture. Unfortunately I have no info on the company. :o

That's a sweet little hatchet! No clue of its history or worth, but it looks like a real winner!

Ahhh, Peavey company....

Glad to see they're still around :D

I had them re-handle two standard peavey's in 1987. A friend and I had taken the job of cutting up a poplar tree that had fallen in a hurricane a few years before. We were young and optimistic, and almost managed to break even by the time we paid for fuel, bar oil, fixing some jacks, and rehandling several tools.

I still have two Snow and Neally Hudson Bay axes, both have been rehandled numerous times, but as I live out west now, they don't see much use.
