Well, Ive been a little busy, but Brian shipped a few toys to me. First, Ive really wanted to try out his modified Snow and Nealley kindling axe. This has a pretty heavy head, but the execution seems excellent.
Second is his outstanding Bushcrafter Knife I have the stabilized curly birch and its just beautiful. I must say that Brians execution of a bushcraft knife is second to none. It handles very comfortably in all the requisite bushcraft holds and Im really looking forward to getting outdoors with it:
Im flying out to Afghanistan next week, so my wife is going to mail my Bushcrafter to Talfuche in August for one of his Quad-Carry sheaths
Lastly, I wanted to get my son an improved bushcraft knife to his first Mora. Its Brians Boys First Knife with G10 tiger handles. Im hiding it until Christmas (if I make it back from Afghanistan in time), but its smaller than I thought. I will say that its a superb little knife with fat handles very much needed for children with less dexterity. If it turns out to be too small, I may put her up in the exchange, but Ill let him try it out first. I really like his sheaths very well done with a very hard set and waxed thoroughly a very safe method for carrying!
Another little surprise of a knife Ive recently been EDCing when in civis is Spydercos Perrin-designed Street-Beat knife. What a little gem; I wasnt expecting such a well designed little blade. Im undecided on the very slight recurve, but the sheath works quite well for horizontal cross draw carry and Ive actually forget several times I was wearing it!

Thanks again Brian for those thinking about a custom knife, Brians site carries several to include some by Breeden, another outstanding knife maker with awesome designs; excellent prices for the workmanship you receive and something thats not only functional but great looking as well. Sadly, theyll have to sit in the safe for a while until my return, but I promise to get them out (hopefully back in GA) and do a little chopping, bushcrafting and whittling.
