As an aspiring knifemaker, I'm clearing out some of my favorites in order to help fund some shop tools. I'm by no means desperate to sell these (I'll fund the shop one way or another) so no low ball offers please.

Up first is a Ken Coats Swayback with bolsters and Ken's black jigged bone. I'm trying to get into knifemaking and slip joints in particular, so I bought this piece to research the work of an established slip joint knifemaker. I received the knife the first week in August and it has been my EDC probably 75% of the time since. It has only seen very, very light use opening packages, etc. with absolutely zero heavy cutting. This piece has not been sharpened. There is some light scratching on the bolsters from front pocket carry. The image below was received from Ken. I'll get some fresh pics up as quickly as possible.

I had the opportunity to discuss this knife with Ken. He indicated that, at the time of purchase, he thought it to be his nicest Swayback to date. I just happened to call when this knife came off the bench, so it was never posted for sale. The following are the specs to the best of my recollection and based on listings for similar pieces from Ken.

Blade and spring ATS-34, Blade @ Rc61-62, 3/32" stock
Blade is hollow ground 600 grit hand finish, drawn swedge
Frame 410 ss, Liners, bolsters integral, mill relieved.
Scales Black Jigged Bone, All pins stainless.
Closed length 3 3/4", open length 6 3/4", Back is flush all 3 positions
This knife pulls at about a 5" or "6", Crescent nail nick.

All parts made by Ken in his shop.

I'll let this one go for SOLD including a zippered case and priority shipping in the US. I prefer Paypal (fees on me), though money orders will be accepted. I really like this knife, so it wouldn't hurt my feelings to keep it, but I'd rather expedite getting some more tools.

All the normal diclaimers about being over 18, legally allowed/competent enough to own/use knives, cognizant of your local laws, etc. apply.

Up next is a Brian Goode Sidekick. I received this piece in Nov. of 2009. I carried it deer hunting once late last season and turkey hunting this past spring. I didn't get anything on either outing except a nasty cut on my index finger. This thing is laser sharp and cut through my glove and partially through my fingernail. It is so sharp I didn't even notice the cut until hours later when I removed the glove and had dried blood all over my finger. Anyway, here are some specs. O1 tool steel with Brian's trademark temper line, OD Canvas Micarta and yellow liners. Now for the pics of present condition.

Other than being carried and used to cut a few twigs on those hunts, this one has also seen very little use. If you are a fan of Brian's work, you know how hard these are to get. This one comes with a sheath from the maker. I'm pricing this one at ($275) SOLD with the same terms, etc. as above.
