1) Ulu on a stick
2) Blade stock too thick? = Yes
3) Canker on balance point - remove tomorrow..
4) Usefulness as is - limited.
5) Potential?? = Great!
6) Work required = Minimal

On doorstep when arived home tonight.
Chopped onion,spuds & parsley.

Plan to replace canker forward of handle with choil.
This will bring balance neutral.
Jimping on riser above handle will add custom look.

Just finished 64hrs this week:confused:

Could be a good skinner...

Pics to follow..

Thanks Steve. This is an interesting knife.
When you crowd the blade, that angled handle just fits the natural bend in the wrist.
Plus the balance is spot on in the hand.
Starting to think maybe this is not an accident:eek:

Perhaps keeping an open mind Re new designs, may not hurt??

Regards, Brent.

It seems you could skin a giraffe with that thing.... robust design.

Neat lookin'.

Looks to me like you improved it a bunch. Nice work. I thought it needed to be lighter and more practical. The original was too Gil Hibbenesque for my taste.
