I have been carrying my Stylus pro for awhile and I love the size of it but I wish it put out more light. Are there any options of a light in a similar size but more lumens?

Preon II is a 2AAA, three level light, the highest of which is 160 out-the-front lumens. (160 OTF lumens is equal to about 220 lumens the way most manufactures rate their lights.)

Is the Quark AA² too big? It's only 0.86" in diameter and BRIGHT.

iTP EOS Series. I have the EOS1 in stainless, it fits in my watch pocket comfortably and on the medium setting is as bright as my 2 D cell mag lite. It is quite the performer for such a small light and the run times are great.

Cheers, Shane

Look into the 4sevens Preon, and some of the pen lights from Sunlite.

I really like the Ti Preon 2 but what would 22 OTF lumens be brighter than 22 regular lumens (Stylus Pro). And is getting the Ti one worth the extra $20 or so?

Get the ti black one. It looks very classy. I think the full ti one is too slippery. They made it look fantastic, but I like a little more grip on my lights.

Regarding the lumens, 22 is on medium. High gives you 160 lumens. I'm guessing the Preon 2's 22 lumens is about the same as what you get with the Stylus Pro.

Hmm well I have a gun show coming up on the 12th so I will try to hold them and see what one I like. I wish they had a solid Ti one that was anodized black.

I'm recommending the aluminum version instead of ti. I have quite a collection of ti toys myself, but for this particular light, ti is a disadvantage. Titanium does not dissipate heat as efficiently as aluminum. Owners of the ti version report that the light gets VERY hot on high. That's not good for the life of the LED. The aluminum version is better for this particular light.

I have the black Preon II. It is amazingly bright, convenient and nice looking. The clicky is smooth and works perfectly. Besides just being bright, it has a very smooth and floody beam that is perfect for a work light.

Well I don't know untill I get to hold it but this will be a EDC flashlight so I am only going to be using it for like less than a minute or two on med. If I do need to use it on high (Emergency) I think I can suck it up with a hot flashlight hell it might help a little.

Ben, if you read what I wrote about my PD30 you'll see that 10 lumens was good enough for me for general use. So if the one you're planning on puts around 20 lumens, I'm sure you'll be really satisfied.

Hope you enjoy your Quark AA² Tactical. You just might find yourself buying the extra body tubes.

I actually really like my mini mag with terralux dropin. The minimag is pretty small and the terralux TLE-5EX dropin is super bright. The batteries last forever. They say it puts out 140 lumens but i can't prove that for a fact. I got everything for under 40$.

Has anybody held the 4sevens Preon 2 in stealth black. If you own both that on and the Stylus pro what one do you like better and is the Preon 2 easy to use? I'm used to a one mode flashlight so it might be a bit confusing.

Mine is black. Mine is the aluminum version, though. Most people describe the texture as rubber-like or sticky. A few say it feels like satin-finished metal. I'm of the latter persuasion. It IS metal. Of course it feels like metal. Those other 90% who disagree with me are just wrong! :)

As for the interface, it's easy and natural. Click it once and it's on low. Lightly press it again and it jumps to medium. Another light press and it's on high. Click again and it's off. Ten seconds with the light, and you'll have it mastered. The light is so bright, and the clicky so smooth and fun, that you'll be playing with it constantly for the first few weeks. Don't worry, there is nothing complicated about the ui.

I doubt that I won't enjoy it ;).
But why do you say that about the body tubes?

From what I've read, many people end up picking up a few different body tubes, such as an 18650 body tube to get that extra long runtime, or a couple of the AA body tubes so they don't have to have CR123s around. There's just so many choices available.
