That looks really nice. The blade finish is very nice. I would suggest rounding the handle more. Use a 1-2" wide strip of paper and "shoe shine" it. It would feel a lot better in my opinion. I may would sand it out to 1500 or so and buff it if you want the handle to shine. It would also might make the grain pop. I really like the design and fit/finish.

I agree.

Also, if you use regular sand paper(like from the hardware store) you'll find that it has a tendency to tear. You can prevent this by putting duct tape on the entire back of the piece and then cutting it into strips.
