bring back the kershaw steven seagal

I always liked the knife. I've seen it in person once before but I foolishly chose not to handle it.

Aikidokas are the only East-Asian martial artists that take knives pretty seriously these days, I think...so the Seagal branding makes some sense to me.

I always thought the reason the knife wasn't more popular, was because Seagal's popularity declined about the time it was released. After all for all it had going for it, it sure wasn't a great seller, as evidenced by the cheap price it went for after being dropped.

He seems to be making a name for himself again behind the scenes in pro-fighting now...apparently he trained Anderson Silva for a fairly recent fight...Silva credited him with the fight-winning front snap kick. Which is odd, because that's not a technique that your usual aikidoka has mastered...or is even very good at...

Oh well, I suppose that mystery is just too tangential to the knife discussion, interesting though it may be.

I bought one of these for $38 from Kershaw Guy years abck with a few Blurs I ordered. I love the knife and like Segal, so I bought all he had left for $35 each ( about 7 plain blade and half serated and no I do not want to sell them)....Gave one to a NYPD friend and he loves it....Great knives and very well made. I would not have bought any for the $125 price, but getting three for less than that was a real buy!

I love mine,my favorite heavy folder.I wear it in a belt sheath,to heavy for
pocket and uncomfortable Iwb carry. The reverse grip is great.

Cool! I didn't know these existed. I kind of want one now.

Steven Seagal Kershaw > Massad Ayoob Spyderco :p

I watched Steven shoot on the Lawman show, and he is very very good. Like him or not, he has talent.

I love the looks of that knife. The writing on the blade wouldn't bother me a bit. If you don't like it, its nothing that a little Scotchbrite can't fix.

That is a standout Kershaw for sure. I just can't get past the disinterest for some inserts and like the Blur, if the inserts were to disappear in favor of a different scale material or texturing of the main scale material regardless of what it is, I'd really be on to one or two.

Sweet looking Kershaw for sure!

My feelings too. That's what kept me from buying a Blur or other similiar Kershaws over the years. I just cant get past the skateboard tape , or in this case... Ray skin ? I've never understood how that makes a nice handle , it seems wierd feeling to me. Different storkes n all that. :)

Good looking knife though , although I'm a bit away from recuves these days. How many recurves does one man need !?? :D

I've trained Aikido for a couple years now so I have a lot of respect for Seagal's skill. The guy really knows his stuff in terms of hand to hand combatives and technique. And as cheesy as his movies can be, I have to admit I do enjoy them. That's really all I have to contribute. It's a good looking knife though. I'd rock it.

well the ray skin insert feels nothing like the blur inserts. the ray skin feels very smooth, almost like a glossy polished marble type feel. i was pretty surprised to see how smooth the ray skin felt on the seagal. the blur inserts are just the opposite, they are very rough and feel almost like sandpaper.

To bad lone wolf got bought by benchmade. They could have done the lone wolf mcquade in honor of chuck Norris

I love my Seagal, I had a one 3-4 years ago got rid of it like a fool. Then after about 1.5yrs searching I got another. This one I will never part with.

It's made in Japan and Japan does have a tradition of using stingray skin on swords and other smaller fixed blades. In fact I believe it's been used for many years and has been used on the very best Japanese blades. The Japanese living with the ocean all around, no doubt found out long ago, ray skin gave an excellent gripping surface for their sword handles.

I Googled this:
High quality Stingray skin. Traditional handle for Japanese swords popular on old European and American swords and daggers.
Found in ancient Asian and Egyptian tombs as ornamental embellishments, decorations and armour. Also popular on old sailing ships as sandpaper.

Yeah, he physically abused his wife Kelly LeBrock and then started getting fat so that sure didn't help.

They have been divorced since 1996 as I would have expected.

Another strange fact. What aikidoka is abusive? Particularly the aikikai guys--they won't even hit their students. There's just a lot going on about him that makes no sense.
