Hey guys I got a question: is there any chance of bringing back the Yojimbo with an upgraded pocket clip? I want one but I mean they are collectors items going for collectors prices. The knife seems pretty popular, Im also wondering why the heck it got discontinued?...The knife seems like a pretty capable and cool looking EDC.

I would love to see even a sprint run on the order of the Lum Chinese something like 1000 pieces in something like S90V maybe. I bet they would sell just fine.

Same with the Manix, same with the Mini-Manix, same with the Persian, same with the Dodo.

Yeah, I wonder why they do this, too.

Agreed and like they already did/do . . .

Sprint run, sprint run, sprint run!
One in a neat colour of G-10, and one with peel-ply carbon fiber.

I don't know why companies do that. Its stupid. Just like the ford GT $125000 car and sold every one of them. Same with the microtech vector and tons of others why stop making something of it sells a S load

These decisions are based on sales, and the need to innovate designs or lose out to companies that do. This often means discontinuing models that are justifiably popular -- but perhaps the sales curve is dropping off. There is a limit to how many models can be produced at any one time.

Having said that, I like the idea of sprint runs of some of these, and wouldn't mind seeing an Ayoob and a Dodo back in the lineup myself.

Whoops! My bad, Esav! Didn't mean it like that. It was more of a comment on the product itself. :foot:

I vote for the Yojimbo too, such a cool knife. The mini Manix would be very nice too, hard knife to come by like the other great hits. Even selling handle kits for current knives in various colors would be interesting, or spring runs of different colors maybe. Who knows, definitely some amazing knives out there from Spyderco.

In this case they did not. As with many things, no one seems to want them until they are gone.

I would be good for a couple of Yojimbos from a sprint run. I would go for two or three more Ronins, too.

I'd really enjoy a Yojimbo with an upgraded pocketclip, too! The E4/D4 pocketclip is growing on me for knives not amenable to more discrete pocket carry (though the UKPK/Caly3 clip and Meerkat clip are still my favorites).

Speaking of the E4/D4 pocketclip...

Maybe the new Yojimbo could be built in Seki? With an FRN/VG-10 version, G-10/SKD-11 version, and peel-ply CF/ZDP version?

A bigger blade in the Dodo or Yojimbo would make for a real nice knife.
I'd like to see them both with a 3 and 1/2".
The small blade is why IMO they both wasn't more popular.
I like at least a 3-1/2" blade in a folder and that was why I never bought either until they became collectible.
