Bringing back damascus beauty

I don't know about you, but I love the blade shape, along with the overall shape of the knife. I might have to pick one up next time I have some money.

It's not that I don't like the blade shape. I just find a wharcliffe or modified wharncliffe blade (Leeks) more useful for my daily tasks. I guess this is the reason my Sebenzas sit on shelf while one of my Leeks is in my back pocket.

To the OP. Sorry for the total thread hijack. :) Thanks for the info....

So, if I go slow and remove the metal without heating up the blade, do you guys think I could "wave" mine without damaging the heat treatment on the edge?

Yes. Go slow and do it right; use a file and then a coarse diamond sharpener. Gradually use finer and finer grits until you're satisfied. Resist the temptation to use a belt sander, even at low speeds.

Just a thought, but I think STR does waves if you think you
might mess it up. It couldn't hurt to shoot him a PM.

Brad did your Talon come like that or did you have it modified?

Factory made and minty fresh! :D

The Starkey Ridge (1410) is a fantastic knife, but if anyone runs across the XXL version, the 1416, lemme know!

Just lettin' ya know, Brad!
He arrived today. Dressed in G-10. A little dusty, but not dirty and he kept his original smile through all these years. He didn't have a luggage, but judging by his looks past 15 years or so didn't age him at all, someone must have looked after him.
Tall, Dark, & Handsom. 1416 PE Starkey Ridge.

(no pics yet)

Yar. Post pictures or else!

Seriously, where did you find one? I've been looking for over a year now.
