Bringing Regulars back...

I would love for them to bring the regular back. Not sure that's going to happen though...
I guess we can all wish.

I've read Chris (or Anne??) comment that the 21 is the original style blade. I just don't see it. The H/P style blade was about halfway between the Regular and 21, and just about the perfect blade shape (IMHO). I like the 21 blade in the small Sebenza though, as its pointier tip allow for easier insertion into envelopes/boxes/paper reams and other light office cutting tasks. For the large Seb, I haven't seen anything I like better than the Regular style shape.

I imagine that the price for a new custom "H" would be closer that of a custom Hinderer at $1,500 +/-, but you're point is valid. He'd sell as many as he wants to make.

Awesome Post DallasSTB and Great pic of the 3 blade profiles up close. For those familiar with all 3, the H/P sebenza was like the best of both worlds. It has a blade profile pretty much the same as the Large Regular, but with a Similar Classic/21 handle shape. I don't hate the Classic/21 handle shape, but I do the blade profile, especially in the large 21. I have a small classic which is basically the same blade shape and I really like it, its pointy, but not as prominent as the large's is. But in the end, the true Champ in my book is the Large Regular. I love the handle ergo's and the blade shape is just perfect. I was lucky enough recently to work out a trade/$$ for 2 large regulars recently. I can never get enough of em....lol. By the way, the two newbies to my stable are a Large Regular Lisa's Pick and a Large Regular In God We Trust. The In God is in my pocket as I type.

also, sweet pics Dallas... thanks for sharing those. I'm a Sebenza rookie so any knowledge is greatly appreciated and happily absorbed.

I would be happy if they just offered the old style blade, I would pay extra for it.

To me, it's less about the blade shape(eventhough I very much prefer the Regular shape) and more about the "look" of the 21/Classic handle. I actually like the feel of the 21 in-hand, but simply don't care for the look when compared to the Regular. While I've had Insingos and TNK 21 tantos, I've never owned a Classic or 21 with standard blade, but sooner or later, I'm gonna have to try one as an alternate to the Sm. Regular.
 
I agree with everyone that prefer the Regular over the 21. I recently thought I lost my '97 small Regular. I love the sebenza so much I immediately replaced it with the small 21. I love the quality, hate the handle design. It's all angles and points that dig into my hand. Comparatively, the shape of the Regular just feels 'right'. Fortunately, I found my Regular!!! It will always be the EDC I reach for first.

Btw, this is my first post. Great information from knowledgable enthusiasts.
