First the ban on kitchen knives, now this... What's next?
What's next? How about this:
Mail order call for knife sales Police in Scotland have said people should have to register to buy knives in a bid to tackle some of the worst knife crime in Europe.
Senior officers want shoppers to produce identification and then have to wait for a period of up to five days for the knife to be posted out to them.

Just build a giant rubber wall around the entire island and let them all run amok. Don't let the insanity spread.

Don't think America is too far behind in it's collective thinking. We are heading down the same road, just a not as far gone...yet.

Yeah, see the letter and prayer request thread.

Maybe we should ban politicians :grumpy:

We are not that far away. All it takes is the right political arena and it can happen. It could even come as a result of court "policy"; Our US Supreme Court recently ruled it was unconstitutional to execute people under the age of 17. How did they determine this? Why international law of course. Justice Stevens said it was ok to look to other countries for guidence. So if the Supreme court deciedes that some of these bans are "good" then they could make it happen.

tried that, didn't work, they keep coming back.

after a while, you can get quite fond of the little tykes, some can even learn to do simple tricks, tho some, like the standard bill clinton breed tend to be over affectionate.

i hear they do well fried with a little olive oil & garlic, and make great sausages. some people carry a few in the car trunk for emergencies though it does cut down on space from swords & the like. i wouldn't like skinning & cleaning them tho. think it's more the asians & pacific islander who like them on the menu. i find most of them used to be lawyers, which probably would taint the meat alot.

Since they have already banned toy plastic guns, even with the orange plastic muzzle inserts, as well as BB guns, pellet guns, cigarette lighters shaped like guns, pictures of guns, and the mention of guns, I am very surprised this has taken so long to come about.

Of course, their robbery numbers have subsequently skyrocketed, and for a nation 1/10 of our population it is several times higher than ours, but the fools and cowards making and passing these laws just don't see the connection.

Are they going to ban [steel] tubing eventually as well ? Just about any tube can be converted into bullet-firing device. Then again, even a block of steel could be made into a gun, it's just easier to do with a tube. Banning blank-firing replicas is kinda silly.

This should stop all those replica criminals dead in their tracks.
:D

Pointing a replica at a cop will surely win the dead recipient a Darwin Award.

I only hope when the People Eaters from Tau Ceti IV make landfall, it's in jolly old England. Got nothing against them- but people deserve to live under the laws they enact.

Ad Astra :footinmou :( :footinmou

baaaaaaaaa bbaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... FSSSSSSSSSSSSTTT! <chomp *gulp* smack>

First guns, then knives, .... then clubs? He he, if they ban clubs only criminals will have clubs. The British lost it long ago. Too bad they had to spread their thinking to Australia.

Criminals will use whatever is available to them.

Pointing a replica gun at anyone anywhere is a real bad idea. Why, once I knew a guy who once had an full scale Uzi water pistol rubbed down with Armor-All to make it shine...

Yeah, we've all seen how such things end in Romper Stomper :D (the gun wasn't a replica but it had its firing pin/hammer filed down so it was a dud that looked like the real thing)

Ladies and Gentlemen,
If you really care about this, then get on the phone to your state and national congressional reps and tell them how awful and stupid it is and tell them you dont ever want to even hear of a similar bill being introduced.
Use the phrases " mindless political laws" and "new faces in the house."
Democracy: Use it or lose it.
