They've a subforum there on Bowies.

Among other things, they gave a link to a 3 year old BF archived thread that I thought was so fascinating that I bookmarked it and a bunch more links to check out tomorrow after our company leaves.

Some people you'll recognise as BF forumites know an awesome amount about Bowies. N2S and Bex ( Mike Becker ) among others.

I bet you could get a doctorate on the Bowie knives alone off the web.

( Of course you could do the same with Khuks. In fact Uncle Bill has contributed to the HI forum becoming one of the places to go for such information. But you already knew that. ) ;)

It's very good of you to say that Rusty :) , though I have to admit I've learned what I know from reading the likes of Bernard Levine and others. They are the real authorities-all I'm doing is repeating what they've already said.

The whole legend of the Bowie knife fascinates me.

I wonder what the new Alamo film will be like? I'm a big Duke Wayne fan, so thats the one that will always stick in my mind.

Is it my imagination, or are movie stars not what they used to be?

I did admire Jack Palance's role as Curly in City Slickers, especially when he and Billy Crystal's Mitch end up overnight together and he pulls out what looks like the old large Western Bowie and starts stropping it on his belt.

But the movie stars of today seem only up to the standard of the old tlevision shows, and the stars of today's TV shows seem shoddy compared to fifteen or even ten years back.
:barf:

It's not your imagination Uncle, and small wonder, when I was a kid the original version of the movie "The Thing" was dadgummed scary, nowadays kids can watch people's heads explode and sit there and giggle.
