I watched a video yesterday and it was stated that elmax was found to be an easier sharpen than 3V. I know 3V is tougher and elmax a little longer edge retention. But which is the easier to sharpen?
 
From what I have read, 3V is easier...I have no experience with elmax though.
I'd personally go with 3V because of its toughness, but if you're not good at maintaining your blades/caring for corrosion, then stick with elmax.
