BRKT bravo 3 vs S!K gso 10

I keep wanting to buy the bravo 3 but every time i look at the handle it looks so small.

Both are great knives but really the handles are small on the bravo 3 combined with slick handles. On the other hand, GSO 10's handle ergonomic is great but it's not really for chopping. I'd suggest to get the Sykco 1111 from swamprat or the tops machete .170

I dont know of anyone that i can custom make a knive using cpm 3v

Brandon EDC, I have made more knives from 3V than any other steel I work with. Right now I have 6 knives that I can think of off the top of my head in 3V that are available for immediate delivery. Not to mention about 10 others I have in process in my shop. Feel free to email me or even call if you would like to discuss some 3V knives.

The Bark Rivers are superb knives but I've never been able to get past the handles.

Are you saying the Bark River Bravo Series handles are uncomfortable? If so, that probably the craziest thing I have ever heard lol. They rank 10/10 for comfort IMO. Especially in extended use.

I personally feel the BRKT Bravo line has the most comfortable handle that can be had on ANY knife on the planet. Yea, that's a BOLD statement. Randalls and High-end customs don't even come close to the Bravo handles IMO. And yes they are polished slick from the factory, but the micarta versions can be washed with dish soap and lightly sanded down with super fine sand paper to obtain personal preference grippy-ness.

I personally don't do any of that. IMO they are perfect out of the box, and only get better with time and use. Yea, I said "use, a knife sitting looking pretty does only that.

I was talking specifically about tje bravo 3. I have read multiple statments about the handle being to small for that size. Have either of you used the bravo 3?

I think the handle looks fine on the bravo 2, but on the 3 theu should have gone bigger just wish i could feel it my it out myself.

Iv handled several of the Bravo Series. I own 4 of them. The handle is designed for single handed use, and extremely secure in hand. I have large sized hands, and I have plenty of handle left after closing my grip. Your not going to be holding the thing like a baseball bat. Or you shouldn't anyway.. It's not a sword. The broad blade design gives the illusion of the handle being small, but in reality this is not the case.

I just got rid of my bravo 3 the other day! Only reason is a another bark river came up that I wanted but the bravo 3 will be returned to my stable very quickly this time in wood scales. I'd highly recommend it. The handle has been one of the most comfortable Ive held big or small knives.

Well thank you both i will go ahead and give it a go. Do either of you you have an idea on what the better handle materials are for this knife?

Micarta will last longer than anything but some of the wood handles BRKT offer are gorgeous.

Yes i saw tje wood. I will be using my knife hard. So maybe micarta will be a better choice, i feel like i care less when it gets marks and nice wood i feel i would be a little disappointed. They do have a lot of options. I like the maroon hanldes. What is ramples on the handles ???

Mike Stewart who owns BR has been around for awhile. He knows what he is doing. I have several of his 3V blades but not a Bravo 3. I had a Bravo 2. It is contoured and has a great grip. Grips are epoxied and he uses corby bolts. Rubber and abrasive grips cause hot spots and that is why he dont use them. You dont have to wear gloves with his knives.
