I have a N S, F R, T.U.S.K., Huntsman, Gameskeeper, Boone, and Journeyman. They can all be used as 'bushcraft' knives. I carried the smallish Huntsman as a hiking knife, eventually getting a larger sheath for the Journeyman. Still not 'comfortable' for extended use, I switched to the belt carried F R, a better choice. In using the N S the very first time, my trigger finger slipped due to dampness - and my CTS problems - and left a DNA sample (Actually, just a bad 'paper cut'.). Then - one day - I tried that Gameskeeper - WOW! I love it - it is my favorite! I had to try a Boone... in bocote wood, my others all being the least expensive G10/Micarta handles. It feels/works great, it's just too pretty to beat up!
So, my CTS problems make squeezing a smaller handle difficult. The Gameskeeper and Boone are the easiest 'grab' and the longest term hold for me, with the Fox River next (... then the T.U.S.K. - which is now my dedicated carver!). I love the A2 and convex edges - heck, any good CS and a convex edge! Here are the Gameskeeper and Boone together:
My latest acquisition for 'bushcrafting'... don't laugh ... is a Benchmade 610 RUKUS with it's .79" thick G10/Micarta/SS lined handle and 4.25" x .15" utility drop-point/AXIS lock blade in S30V - a pocketable choice that doesn't need a sheath. It's a moose of a knife. Yeah, like I needed a reason to buy it! Also, even though I don't use the N S at all - it's a keeper! Maybe I am just a 'black hole' for knives...
