I just received the knife I won in the BRKT contest a little while back. Now, when I entered the contest, I thought it was great. But I figured whoever won would get one of their smaller, less expensive knives. That is definitely NOT the case, and it speaks HUGELY for Mike and the crew at BRKT. Without further ado, here is the knife I won (I'm amazed). It's an absolute beauty:

That is one gorgeous Slither!!! I am still waiting on the knife I won to arrive!

It should be there soon TKC--you are on the Cape, and I'm just north of Boston. I bet you get it today!

Cheers,
Daniel

All these free Bark Rivers, you people are kill'n me. I just PAID for a Wolf River, should be here in a few days. Congrats on the wins.:)

I'm also one of the 50 knife BRK&T giveaway.

I just got my Snowy River with a carbon fiber handle today. It is marked as a "First Production" run.

Mike Stewart makes a DAMN nice knife!

That's a great looking knife!

If you use it can you please post your comments? The only thing I know about BRKT is that they are good knives but I haven't seen any review yet.
Thanks!

There are plenty of reviews of Bark River knives if you know where to look for them (there aren't many here, but there are some). I suggest checking Outdoor Magazine forum and Knife Forums for some reviews. There is a good review of the Slither at OMF.

I'll certainly use mine, but I don't do that much that would really test it like some others might. It is wicked, wicked sharp, though, and feel WONDERFUL in the hand.

Cheers,
Daniel

The only complaint I have about barkies is there is to many models to choose from.My Northstar came in last week, what a beauty.I have 3 Bark river now and they are all VERY sharp when they came.I let my wife use one in the kitchen last night, hope I can get it back!

I have traded for 3 Barkies that I currently have; a Slither with green micarta handles, a trickle (that came with the Slither as a surprise.) and a Fieldsmen, with brown micarta handels. They are all EXCELLENT. The Fieldsmen needed a little help, so I sent it back to Bark River for a refurb. Their knives have an amazing guarrentee!! I can't wait fir the one that I won to arrive!!

While we are on the topic does anyone know where I can find a Bark River Woodland Special with the amboynia burl handle. The internet has not found one for me. TIA.

John

jvan. Buy the cheapest woodland you can find. Send it back to Bark River to be rehandled in your choice of materials. They'll do it for a modest fee.

Phil

Or you can contact them with the direct order for it, to be delivered through whichever dealer you choose. DLT does have one nice burled one though, just not amboyna...

Slither Review!
So far, the Slither cuts off tall weeds with ease, and slices Granny Smith apples with aplomb. Considering how thick the knife is (.170), it is an amazing slicer--top to bottom slices with no wedging breakage and virtually no effort. It's very easy to cuts paper thin/transparent slices of apple.

That's it so far--maybe more later if I catch a fish and use it as a fillet knife ;)

Daniel

The one I won arrived today!! It is a Snowy River with Tulipwood!! I LOVE it!! THANK YOU MIke Stewart!!

Yes, call DLT and ask them about ordering one, or even call Mike Stewart and see if he's got any Woodland blades stashed. If he's got any blades, he could get you one out in short order.

I got mine yesterday of course I dont have pics...but awesome job and a great giveaway!

thanks Mike Stewart!
