I have and used daily a Chris Reeve Nyala. Love the knife. If only it didn't have that swedge. Looking for a similar feel and size, but better at bush crafting. The gunny and or bravo 1 Lt. I would get in 3v. The bush finger is just straight sexy. Does anyone have these have insite on these?

I have one of the production bushfingers from Fiddleback, and I love it, except for one odd major criticism: I don't like it for whittling/working wood. I like the knife for just about everything else, but when it comes to actually working with wood I prefer my cheapo Mora HighQ Allaround. But for everything else I think the Bushfinger is excellent. It is especially good for things like food prep. Even though it is a capable utility/outdoor knife it is so good for food that it sees a lot of use as a petty knife in the kitchen.

It looks like it would be a champ at food prep. The belly looks a little wide for whittling. The handle is the most attractive part to me. Comfort in the hand is just as important as the blade.

The Bushfinger, either handmade or mid-tech, is going to be more similar to your Nyala in blade profile and the offset between the handle and the cutting edge. The BRKTs you mention do not have much offset, by which I mean the midline of the blade and handle are nearly aligned bringing the cutting edge most closer to the line of the bottom of the handle. I hope this makes sense. The Fiddleback handles are amazing but the Barkies aren't bad either. Frankly, buy both and keep the one you like. Both are easy to resell around here. And my experience with Bushfingers echoes that of abbydaddy but they sure are sexy!

I have no experience with the Fiddleback Bushfinger (other than looking at it online, and thinking I would like it); but I have both the BRK Gunny and Bravo 1-LT. I have posted my thoughts on those knives several times - the the major drawback to the Gunny, for me, is that the handle just doesn't feel right. I think that it is just a little too short (height, not length) for my hand. The Bravo 1-LT? I like it a lot...the handle fits, and feels good in, my hand.
If you're looking at those two, it's worth considering the Fox River LT, as well. Take a look at this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Gunny-Hunter-VS-Aurora?highlight=Fox+river+lt

Thanks fellas. I just need to win the lottery. That said does anyone have the Chris Reeve Nyala that can get a side by side pic with any of these mentioned?
